Concrete Pools

Marblesheen, painted and pebblecrete pools are acid washed to obtain a clean, neutral surface in preparation for the fibreglass.

Vinyl liner pools are prepared by removing the vinyl liner and the extrusion strip.

The pool is then given an acid wash.

Fibreglass is applied to the entire pool surface using Vinyl Ester Resin and 450g/²csm (Chopped Strand Mat).

A Vinyl Ester Fill Coat is then applied. This coat is designed to fill the pattern of the fibreglass.

The fill coat is then sanded back which gives good adhesion and a smooth surface for the Finish Coat.

The final coat which is called the Finish Coat or Gelcoat is then applied which is available in a range of colours.

Fibreglass Moulded Pools

The swimming pool is emptied and the shell stabilized. Fibrecoat/Fibreglaze then grind back the pool and all visible osmosis is ground out. Any of the laminate removed by this process will need to be replaced which is done with Vinyl Ester Resins and Fillers.

A new laminate using 450g/²m csm and Vinyl Ester Resin is then applied to the entire pool surface. In some cases this may need to be doubled to 900g/²m csm.

A Vinyl Ester Fill Coat is then applied. This coat is designed to fill the pattern of the fibreglass.

After the fill coat is sanded back, the Finish Coat is applied.

Our Fleck Finish is applied over the Finish Coat.
